What strikes me most is your thoughts about the context of your quote. I often think about this as I usually see something in some of my favorite works that literally no one else sees, at all. This is particularly illuminating when considering Jesus words.

I just remembered back in the infancy of theforce.net I spoke with Matt Stover about the motivation of one of his books, he said he had never thought about it that way, but it was an interesting connection. That sounded way cooler in my head...

It all counts. We lost a kid in our high school this week as he took his own life. I listened to students say "what if I had said something to him in Chemistry on Tuesday morning, would it have helped?" Maybe, maybe not, I know for sure we can't blame ourselves, but I also now there are words that turned lives around for many people I know. Why do we walk by and not say a thing to the person we pass? Consider your words and actions gifts, use them. It may be the one thing that adds the positive needed to remind someone of their greatness...and you yours.

Well said! When will Erik write a book...I want to buy it! And conversation in every number there, ok well the fart one we can let go.

I have 9 months till that number 40 appears...

so I will list a few lessons...

1. Follow your heart...it is the best way to help others find their path.
2. Coffee and conversation are a must with people who you know will push you beyond your comfort zone.
3. Your home should be your favorite vacation spot
4. Neighbors are family that have a different refrigerator
5. Drink water- and lots of it
6. Expensive cheese and wine are worth every penny
7. It takes a village to raise a good kid
8. Genocide, poverty, and injustice will never be end until we learn that where you live should not determine if you live.
9. Being friends with a genocide survivor is the best way to learn to live fully, embrace others as family, and let go of all the things you want to complain about.
10. Pictures are the first thing I save in fire.

11. I have only lived a little less than half the years my father has at 83, and his hand in mine is what I know I will miss most, and that is why hospital coffee is bitter...for many reasons

Thank you Erik for sharing wisdom. A total gift
